Getting a life
Since I now have the reputation of being somewhat of a Scott Pilgrim nut, I have to keep that up. Last week I came across a couple of free hours to make a drawing and this is what I came up - a drawing inspired by Scott Pilgrim's movie trailer. I finished coloring it today. I'll update this post with the linework when I get the original drawing back (I wasn't home when I drew it). I hope you enjoy this!

Scott Pilgrim
Alright. You've been hanging out here for a while, plus you might know me from twitter and facebook too, and if that's the case, you know I think Scott Pilgrim is pretty much the coolest thing since the dawn of times. I really love the comic and I couldn't be more excited for the movie and the game. I mean, did you see those trailers? Epic stuff. Well, when the first movie teaser came out, I made this drawing. I did it very quickly (it's pretty much a glorified sketch), but I had to draw something Scott-related. Ta-da!

I'm sorry that this isn't exactly new work, but I'm still dealing with a horrible lack of drawing time. I hope you enjoy this either way!

A Garagem de Kubrick 21
A new thing for today: this week's Kubrick's Garage strip is being released here first, so I can post it to the webcomic's Official Facebook Page. In a few days it'll be up at Cineblog (its regular home), so keep checking it out there, because we always release the pages first at Cineblog and on the facebook page - this is just a one time thing :) Enjoy!

Hellboy 2010
A while ago I started talking art with Kelley, one of the members of the Night of the Living Podcast crew. He's also an artist and is currently working on his own webcomic project. Somehow we ended up talking about Hellboy, how awesome Mignola is, and how tough Hellboy really is to draw. I always have trouble drawing an half-decent Hellboy. It wasn't long before we challenged each other to draw an Hellboy, and here's my part of the challenge (it's a blog exclusive for now!).

Still not an ideal Hellboy. He's too rigid, but you know... practice makes perfect. I hope to one day post an awesome Hellboy in this blog, look back at this one and see how far I've come. I post these two versions because I couldn't decided on which I liked best - the right one looks strange at first, but I ended up liking the sort of watery look the colors had. Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Kubrick's Garage - 19
Oh boy, do I have a special treat for my international followers today. I actually translated a Kubrick's Garage to post here! Yes, all 3 sentences of it. I'm sorry I haven't done this much before, but I've been incredibly busy and translating pages with a lot of dialogue is a bit time consuming. That being said, I hope you enjoy this page! It's pretty self-explanatory, so it probably didn't even need the translation, but there you have it.

Zona Gráfica
Hello, everyone! I'm still busy as hell, so updating hasn't been easy - but here I am today with some cool news. The new issue of Zona (a comics and illustration project I've had the pleasure of being a part of), Zona Gráfica, will be released at the 30th May in the International Comics Festival, in Beja, Portugal (so if you're in Portugal, you know what you should be doing next Sunday).
It's composed of two volumes: the first one is 106 pages of awesomeness, in black and white, with a fantastic cover by the artist Z! (a.k.a. José Pinto Coelho). Roll in the awesomeness of this cover for a while. You know you want to.

On the other hand, the second volume is composed of 52 fully-colored pages, and the cover was created by Manuel Alves, who did a kick ass job on it! Look at it. Love it.

I have an interview on the black and white issue, and a short 1-page comic on the colored issue, so I've spread my sillyness over two volumes. Nice. If you want to know what other artists contributed for Zona Gráfica, just look here:

Night of the Living Podcast
As you all know, I love horror movies. When I started listening to podcasts, I discovered a lot of horror podcast, and started following some of them.
Night of the Living Podcast quickly became my favorite - not only did they discuss horror movies, but all the hosts are hilarious and I swear I almost can't listen to the show on public places because it's hard not to crack up. So, a while back (so this isn't exactly new work), I decided to draw a little gift for the hosts, and this is what I came up with

It was easy deciding on what I wanted to do: since it's a podcast "dedicated to all things horror", trying to reproduce the general look of an old, vintage EC comics cover seemed like a perfect choice. That's what I went for, and hopefully that's the vibe you got.
I can't recommend this podcast enough to horror fans, the hosts are not only hilarious but very capable of delivering some really interesting discussions about horror movies and film in general. It's my favorite podcast out there, so go to NOTLP and check it out for yourself!
